The Benefits and drawbacks of carpets

Wool Mix Twist Pile

Most wool twist pile carpets are made up of 80% wool and a 20% blend of man made fibers. The main benefits of this is the durability of the fiber and the ease of hoovering. The Primary drawback of any wool blend carpet is that it is not bleach cleanable and is typically a more rough feeling fibre.

Wool Loop Pile

Most wool loop pile carpets are made up of 100% wool fibers. The main benefits of this is the durability of the fiber and the finish of the carpet. The Primary drawback of any wool carpet is that it is not bleach cleanable and is typically a more rough feeling fibre.

Polypropylene

Most Synthetic carpets are made from polypropylene fibers and are produced as both twist and loop pile carpets. The main benefit of these is that they are bleach cleanable, with the main drawback being that they will flatten as the fiber does not naturally bounce back.

Polyester

Polyester carpets are a good middle ground between polypropylene and polyamide being bleach cleanable and with limited bounch back properties. The main drawbacks are that they are not as durable as polyamide and are typically more expensive than polypropylene.

Polyamide (Nylon)

Polyamide carpets provide the best of both worlds, combining durability and comfort. Polyamide carpets can be bleach cleanable but always check first. The main drawback to theses carpets are the price.
